Philosophy
For more than 40 years, I have been trying to perpetuate my father’s long established heritage. My aim is precisely to seek for perfection in my field – vinegrowing – but also in the blending of the wines which makes my vintages.
My quest to perfection has become a real aim and the passion I dedicate to my work, a perpetual innovative booster. Between the ages of 14-25, I learnt how to grow vines with the objective of becoming a master in this field. After years of pratices and successful achievements, I spent more times trying to break in the real art of blending the most subtle vine varieties - pinot noir and chardonnay - from the Champagne region.
The reflection on my personnal work came long after. I had to understand the true role of both the vinegrower and the winemaker in the making process. The modern techniques and researches in these fields have been immense supports. Even though, the role of oenology has been critical in the quality control, I am trully convinced that it represents only a little contribution to the final reproduction of a great Champagne – ‘know-how’, passion, creativity and obstination are the true properties which help to achieve outstanding results.
My mission is now to produce true pedigree Champagnes. I believe I have achieved a certain level of genuineness and I am willing to use it in the making of exceptionnal vintages.
